Why We Built This Site
New York provides several public record routes, but each custodian holds a different part of the story. The Genesee County Sheriff's Office handles its own reports and jail records. County, City, town, and village courts keep their respective case files. The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services maintains fingerprint-based statewide histories and the New York State Sex Offender Registry, while DOCCS holds state custody and supervision data. This site brings the official contacts, search tools, fees, and request steps into one county-focused reference.

This is a privately operated reference site, with no affiliation to a New York court, police department, sheriff, or state agency. Its role has firm limits:
- We do not retrieve official records or conduct official background checks
- We cannot issue certified court papers, rap sheets, or agency records
- We do not file FOIL requests or record-sealing papers for visitors
- We cannot interpret a charge, warrant, or case as legal advice
- We cannot promise that an agency's contact details or fees have not changed
An official copy must come from the office that maintains it, such as the Sheriff, the deciding court, or DCJS.
